in Spring Tune-Up Meet submitted by Sandie Gentile New England Gymnastics Training Center of Hudson competed in the Spring Prep-Op Tune-Up Meet held in Hampstead on April 17. This meet was a opportunity for the gymnasts to get positive and negative feedback from the judges at the end of each event. It is a great way for the gymnasts to fine-tune their routines before the upcoming State Meet in May. NEGTC coaches, parents, family, and friends are all proud of the gymnasts’ hard work and dedication that is required to be safe and successful in this sport. Scores for local gymnasts: Prep-Op Novice (Junior Division): Taylor Jordan of Litchfield placed 13th all-around with a score of 35.400. by Sue LaRoche The Broncos played Pinkerton on Thursday, April 21, losing a tough, 8-5 decision, which dropped them to 2-5 on the season. The Broncos had a chance in the bottom of the seventh inning, but they left the bases loaded, stranding the winning runs on the base paths. Senior first baseman Ethan Hurley had three hits and two RBIs, and senior shortstop Colton Houle added three hits and scored three runs. Sophomore catcher Pat Emanuelson added two hits and one RBI, and senior centerfielder Ryan Houle had a triple and scored a run for the Broncos. It was the battle of the Lees as Coach Mike Lee’s Broncos took on the Coach Derek Lee’s Windham squad and crushed them 14- 2. Tyler MacDonald pitched six innings, giving up two hits and two runs while striking out 10 batters. Leading the hit parade for the Broncos were David Webster with two doubles and three RBIs, and Ethan Hurley and Ryan Houle (two RBIs) with a double each. Pat Emanuelson and Adam Nardelli added two RBIs each, and Mike Falcone and David Coleman had one RBI each.
