Maria Janssen Creative Director, Youth, Street & Sport and Future Trends
Maria is a creative thinker with a strong product background, experienced in translating visionary ideas into strategies and everyday reality. Having joined WGSN in 2007, she became the Global Managing Editor for Youth, Street & Sport and Tink Tank in the same year, and now leads these teams in identifying and translating emerging trends and influences into a cohesive WGSN creative direction.
A former design director at Nike, Maria has strong creative credentials in premium sportswear and luxury highstreet brands, working for Pringle, Marks & Spencer and Michiko Koshino, and lecturing at the BA Fashion course at Kingston University. Maria holds a degree in fashion design from London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
Sandra Halliday Director, Market Analysis & Insight
Sandra is an experienced business writer, editor, consultant and commentator, covering the international fashion, retail, duty-free and cosmetics sectors. In her 10 years at WGSN, she has edited and developed the News area of the site, introduced the Trade Shows directory and co- launched the Beauty directory. She is now focused on developing WGSN’s business and celebrity reporting, as well as the future-thinking Tink Tank area, and driving the company’s entry into the market-report segment. Sandra has also commented regularly for news organisations, including the BBC, on fashion and retail industry issues. Prior to joining WGSN, Sandra edited a raft of business and consumer magazines in English and German, including Cosmetics International and Hair & Beauty.
