embers and guests can get a close-up view of the beauty, skill, athleticism and grace of synchronized swimming at the annual spring exhibition Friday, May 6 from 6:15-8 p.m. This is the perfect time to see a sampling of the sport at all levels and ages, from beginner to elite and from age 6 to 85. The juniors showcase their competitive routines that have already earned great titles and place- ments on a regional and zone level. The masters exhibit their new routines that they use in competition at the 2011 U.S. masters championship in Roseville, Calif., in October.

The synchro juniors have much to celebrate already at the mid-season mark, after receiving a gold medal in the combo event at the West Zone championship in Santa Clarita, Calif., in March. Other zone highlights include silver medals in both the junior trio and team event and some top-10 finishes for other MAC routines. Fifteen MAC juniors participated in this 10-state meet.

The Classic Invitational, held in Kirkland, Wash., on April 9-10, also yielded excellent results for the juniors, with medals in several events. Coming up next is the regional age group champion- ship Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22 in Beaverton. This event is the quali- fier for the U.S. age group championship in June in Federal Way, Wash. The top three qualifiers from each local association advance to regionals, where the top three in each event earn qualifying spots for the national event. Thirty MAC juniors plan to participate in this event.

Synchronized swimming classes offered throughout the school year, and there is a a new four-day summer camp, held Monday, July 18 through Thursday, July 21. See the summer class and camp guides for registra- tion information, or go online to theMAC. com.
