umba enthusiasts and their friends were treated to a special Zumba

Toning class Feb. 25 in Studio I. MAC instructors Andrea Sexton and Cristi Dillon taught the class. Zumba Toning uses lightweight Zumba sticks that add an extra zip to Zumba routines. Zumba Toning incorporates weights to add muscle training and sculpting to an intense cardio workout. Members without Zumba sticks can use light hand weights to sculpt their muscles during the class.

Zumba is one of the most aerobic classes that MAC has to offer. Participants can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour- long class. This Latin-inspired workout is non-stop dancing that engages both the core and movement set to an upbeat fusion of Latin dance, such as salsa, meringue, cha cha cha, hip hop and popular music. Zumba has become a world-wide phenomenon that has swept fitness clubs world-wide. The class appeals to various ages, from teens to seniors.

Zumba is offered numerous times a week. Members can check the Studio I schedule online at theMAC.com to find a class that fits their schedule. For more information, call the Fitness Office at 503-517-7535. WM
