EUROPEAN UPDATE Another stellar performance
TCSJohnHuxley and Novo Unity II shine in product trials at Sydney’s Star City Casino
Following a period of extensive testing and evaluation, Star City Casino, which is located in Sydney, Australia, has commenced a trial of Novo Unity II produced by Austrian Gaming Industries and distributed in Australia by TCSJohnHuxley Australia. The trial consists of 10 NovoStar SL1 multiplayer terminals connected to an auto roulette wheel and two live roulette tables.
Simon Witty, Managing Director of TCSJohnHuxley Australia commented: “Novo Unity II delivers ultimate flexibility, which translates to player’s choice. The immediate popularity of the system proves that players appreciate game choice being able to select different tables to play on. We have been working very closely with Star City’s Product Team to ensure the trial went ahead successfully and it’s great to see all the hard work producing a very positive result.”
Konami Grand Falls system successes
The Grand Falls Casino Resort in Grand Falls, Iowa has selected the Konami Casino Management System (KCMS) to manage its slot machine and table games patron tracking, accounting, marketing campaigns and analytical reporting. The Grand Falls Casino Resort is due to open in summer 2011 with 900 slot machines (15 per cent of which will be supplied by Konami), 24 table games and eight poker tables.
Joe Massa, Chief Operating Officer, Grand Falls Casino Resort, said: “Having undergone several rigorous selection processes involving casino management systems over the years, this is now the fourth time in a row that the superior business benefits of KCMS have won out over the competition.” The decision to implement KCMS at the Grand Falls Casino Resort was also partly due to its successful track record at its sister property, the 1,226-machine Riverside Casino & Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa.

Fresh approach in Spain from flexible Suzo Happ
Suzo Happ demonstrated its fresh approach to the Spanish market from its stand at the Spanish FER show. Suzo Happ in Spain operates with large warehousing facilities in Alicante and a sales office in Madrid. The Hopper Flow not only has a high payout speed but does not need any adjustments should the coin denomination need to be altered. Furthermore, the three bowl sizes give added flexibility. “Naturally the Hopper Flow is compatible with current products in use,” advised Mr. Gomez.
The strength in depth of the Suzo Happ product range is reflected in the topper range and the latest toppers such as the Reel Topper and the Round Video Topper were on prominent display. “The LED strips are finding new applications, not only to attract players to the gaming machines. We are seeing them more and more placed around the gaming halls as a way of decorating them”, concludes Mr. Gomez.
