WHITESHILL OPENS THE FLOODGATES FOR THAMES VALLEY

Whiteshill Systems, experts in bespoke sales software development, have worked closely with a major Home Counties-based installer to create a customised suite of software. Thames Valley Window Company has an excellent reputation for quality installations across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire, but wanted to increase their cost control and margin analysis.

Director Mark Schofield told Clearview how the initial brief rapidly extended from the back office cost control to front end sales functions.

“Our initial objective was to improve our understanding of job costing and profit generation, establish where our margins were being generated and how we were allocating actual costs against jobs. However, once we met with Whiteshill, it immediately became apparent that we could also improve our front end sales presentations.”

Whiteshill’s Mark Dudley took up the story: “Following our initial discussions with Thames

Valley, we took Focus, the standard-setting pricing and sales software for windows and doors from Windowlink and created a totally unique package. The standard Focus programme can be used straight out of the box, but we knew that by going a step further, we could provide a fully integrated system that would help Thames Valley to maximise their potential at every step of the sales process.”

The result has surpassed all expectations, as Mark

Schofield explains: “If we had simply bought the software and run it ourselves, there is no way we would have seen the full potential right through our business. We now have a system that helps us keep tight control of our costs as well as helping our sales team to improve their conversion rates on the back of improved presentations to home owners.”

Mark Dudley concludes: “Following on from this customised Focus installation, we are now working on a bespoke version of the Vector conservatory and orangery program which will dovetail perfectly with the added value approach that Thames Valley

Whiteshill Director, Mark Dudley and Thames Valley Director, Mark Schofield

takes with their customers. This will be backed up by a full training programme to ensure everyone on the sales team is comfortable with the system and can generate the same results as seen from the Focus windows and doors package.”

ASSA ABLOY BRINGS APERIO WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY TO IFSEC

On display at this year’s IFSEC exhibition will be ASSA ABLOY’s latest innovative locking technology, Aperio, which enables the wireless integration of mechanical locks into existing access control systems, offering a cost effective and simple security upgrade.

Ideal for Facility or Security Managers

experiencing costly and time-consuming key control problems, Aperio has been designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them to existing online access control systems, with minimal modification to doors and premises.

This provides end-users in a variety of markets

with a simple and intelligent way of upgrading the controllability and security level of their premises. Plus, Wiegand connectivity has recently been added to the Aperio offering, allowing Aperio to connect with almost all access control systems in the marketplace.

Existing card credentials can be used on additional online doors and will provide real-time audits and instant updates of access restrictions through the existing access control system.

of Aperio can benefit from “try me” sales opportunities. This provides installers with demonstration products that can be fitted for customers on a trial basis, leading to increased sales.

Matt Thomas, Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “IFSEC is an ideal platform to display our Aperio product offering, as it meets both the budgetary and security needs of many of the show’s visitors who will have a chance to discuss the technology in depth with our access control specialists.”

“Aperio provides an easy-to-install and cost- effective link between online access control and physical security that allows security managers to conveniently increase the number of doors that can be monitored with an existing system.”

“The recent introduction of Wiegand connectivity has enhanced Aperio’s flexibility even further, as the smart technology can now be used with any access control system that supports a Wiegand interface.”
