FABRICATOR SHOWTAKESTOP PLACE FOR INDUSTRY FOCUSSED EXHIBITIONS

While Ecobuild is considered the UK’s number one construction exhibition there is no doubt that elumatec’s bi-annual Fabricator Show is the leading exhibition for the aluminium fabrication sector.

The three-day event at elumatec’s Milton Keynes facilities had all the hallmarks of a large–scale professional trade exhibition.

This year’s show attracted a record attendance, and though the footfall is not comparable with shows like Ecobuild, the visitors were from one specific market, making the very focussed. This clearly had very positive business benefits for both elumatec and the show’s 20 trade exhibitors which comprised many of the industry’s leading software, hardware and systems suppliers.

NEW MACHINES ON DISPLAY FROMELUMATEC INCLUDED THE SBZ131 AND SBZ122/64.

The SBZ131 comes equipped with autonomous clamp adjustment giving faster cycle times especially when processing shorter parts.

Lancashire based conservatory roof fabricator, Prefix Systems Ltd, has ordered an SBZ122/64 after seeing it at the show. Still retaining all the benefits of the SBZ122 3.8m, but at 6.7m long the SBZ122/64 has the ability to work on long profiles without the need to reposition. It can also be split into 2 separate stations, increasing speed and flexibility as the operator can load and unload one station while working on the other.

Both were demonstrated using a range of profiles and attracted a lot of interest from fabricators looking to increase efficiency, flexibility and capacity.

The show’s piece de resistance, however, was the new SBZ151, an industrial profile machining centre. The SBZ151 is not often seen outside some of the world’s largest aluminium and steel processing facilities and was at the fabricator show by request of several elumatec customers looking to increase flexibility in production. Even the fabricators who didn’t have the requirement for a machine of this scale said they couldn’t help but be impressed by its capabilities.

Phil Heavey, managing director of elumatec UK said: “To have attracted a record number of visitors to the show in these challenging economic times far exceeded our hopes for the show. They came to see machines which they are genuinely interested in buying. It was also a good place for fabricators to meet with other industry suppliers, creating business opportunities for everyone who exhibited.”

The next elumatec Fabricator Show will be in spring 2013.
