VEKA’S U-VALUE CALCULATOR PROMOTED TO FULL WER STATUS

Industry-leading system supplier VEKA plc has revealed that its popular online U-Value Calculator has now been 'promoted' to a full WER Calculator - ratified by the BFRC, Certass and Network VEKA as sufficient evidence to apply for an energy rating licence.

VEKA's Principle Development Engineer, Tim Williams, told Clearview: “Using the VEKA calculator, our customers are saved from the time- consuming and costly process of submitting the report to an independent agency to be checked.

“With the ability to rate residential, French,

Bi-Fold and Tilt & Slide doors, VEKA customers are eager to see the launch of a door rating scheme to take full advantage of the calculator. Shortly, we will also be able to offer the option to add laminated glass to the spec to achieve BS7950

and Secured by Design, along with the ability to add triple glazing for new builds and Code for Sustainable Homes.”

“We believe our WER calculator is one of the most advanced, yet simplest to use in the industry - and it is already helping our customers to prepare for the next update in Building Regulations which will come into play in 2013.”

Each certificate generated by the calculator

carries the VEKA customer’s name and unique BRRC licence number.

With more than half a million WER

permutations for Matrix 70 double glazed casement windows alone, the possibilities are becoming almost endless for users of this technically-advanced calculator.

Tim Williams DEFINITIVE LEEDS

Leeds Glass recently received delivery of their new 'Definitive Collection' brochures from local Kömmerling fabricator, HWL Trade Frames, as part of their enhanced marketing package.

The second version of HWL’s 'Definitive Collection' brochure has been extended to 20 pages to incorporate the Window Energy Ratings (WERs) and Building Regulations compliance. In addition there’s two new pages dedicated to the

Solidor composite door range which offers 13 colours inside and out, and that perfectly match the Kömmerling door frame.

The brochure by its name is a definitive collection and includes sections on conservatories, sliding patio doors and vertical sliders.

Within the windows section of the brochure there are also details on Kömmerling’s impressive lead free, 5 chambered C70 Gold and O70 Gold systems. Due to their engineered design, they can achieve ‘A’ and ‘C’ energy ratings with more cost effective glass options for HWL Trade Frames, helping making them and their customers such as Leeds Glass more competitive in the marketplace.

Graham Howatson, sales and marketing director

of HWL Trade Frames comments: “It’s important for us to develop our own brand and with it offer a more bespoke offering to our customers such as Leeds Glass.”

“The Definitive Collection brochure and

showroom banner will help them stand out from the crowd in the Leeds area and close more sales.”

Installers looking for further information on the Definitive Collection, should log on to www.definitive-collection.co.uk or contact HWL Trade Frames on 0113 244 9006 or e-mail sales@hwlwindows.co.uk.
