Trade fabricator Sash UK has declared itself a one-stop shop after launching a whole new suit of products in the elegant Veka FS profile and adding three more ranges to its in-house manufacturing portfolio. The addition of the sophisticated fully-sculptured (FS) profile range from Veka offers yet more options to customers so that no matter what the requirement, Sash UK has something to suit all tastes.

With a long-standing reputation as an innovator in its field, Sash UK has been working to maximise its own manufacturing capabilities to accommodate these new developments that include the ever-popular composite door, inline sliding door and vertical sliding window, all of which are available in the Veka Matrix profile and the new Veka FS profile.

Sustainability also remains high on the Sash UK agenda with the development

of Fitrite Ecoboard. This new addition to the Fitrite Fencing and Decking family contains 85% recycled material and performs exactly like the premium board but is up to 20% cheaper. It is extruded exclusively at Sash to reducing the company’s carbon footprint and improving lead times for customers.

“Sash UK has always been known for producing quality products and is committed to a strategy of continuous development to make sure that this is still the case. These recent advancements not only reaffirm this reputation but allow us to be more competitive in a climate where value for money is paramount”, explained Sash UK Managing Director, Stephen Morrell.

NATIONWIDE DONATES NEW WINDOWS FOR PRE- SCHOOL PROJECT

A Bath pre-school has been given a new lease of life thanks to the generous donation of some replacement windows.

The Hut pre-school in Twerton had some rotting old wooden windows, which

it could not afford to replace. But housing developer Lovell, which is building 56 homes on a site next door to the Newton Road nursery as part of a Somer Community Housing Trust project, decided to see what it could do to help.

The company’s community liaison officer Claire Westaway contacted Nationwide Windows, the supplier for the Twerton development, and the firm agreed to donate and fit seven new double-glazed uPVC windows for free. Bath Area Play Project runs the nursery and its co-ordinator Caroline Haworth said everyone was very grateful for the donation.

She said: “The pre-school building has been well looked after, with a lot of support from our wonderful volunteers, but some parts were showing their age, including the wooden-framed windows.

“We were lucky enough to get a grant a while ago to replace some but

it wasn’t enough to pay for them all. Having this help has been fantastic, especially in the current climate when grants are in short supply.”

Ms Westaway said it was important for the company to support local people wherever possible. “The pre-school is right next to the regeneration development at Twerton and when we heard they were having problems, we were very keen to help,” she said.

“We know from the work we are doing in Twerton that The Hut is very well- used and a much valued resource for the local community.

“We’re delighted to have been able to organise the window replacement.” 50 « Clearview NMS « April 2011 « www.clearview-uk.com

VEKA SUPPORTS LOCAL TROOPS

Industry-leading system supplier VEKA plc has donated a laptop to soldiers from the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment which will allow the troops to communicate with their families, while on duty in Afghanistan.

The PVC-U system supplier was one of five local businesses to donate computer equipment worth £3,000, including five laptops, webcams, digital projectors and a notepad computer.

Local soldiers from the Regiment were presented with the equipment

by the Mayor of Burnley at a VIP reception held at Burnley Town Hall, before they start active duty in the next few months.

VEKA's Sales and Marketing Director Colin Torley said: “We are delighted to be involved in providing laptops for our brave troops. All the computer equipment donated means that they can now keep in touch with their loved ones while they are serving abroad.”
