that field for the long-term! This will do several things for your church family and for the people you are going to help. Your church will develop personal relationships with the people on the field that will lead to a real sense of caring. That, in turn, will result in a deeper sense of commitment in giving, praying, and real interest in that field. For the people who live on the mission field, your long-term investment will let them know that you really do care. They will know your visits to them are not “missionary vacations.” For the missionary family on the field, they will have gained a partner in their work. Your interest will be a great encouragement to them. Our request is that you invest in that mission field for at least three years. Third, make certain that

you do your trip with excellence. That’s where we can help! BMA Missions has resources to help your church get to the mis- sion field. Planning your short-term missions trip through BMA Missions

you’ll be assured that your experience will be well organized, safe, and most importantly, effective. BMA Missions will send a member of our staff to your church for face-to-face training and will help guide your team as you prepare for your trip. We’ll work with your host missionary to make certain that they are prepared for your visit and to organize your mission once you hit the ground. Would your students or adults like to explore the possibili- ties of a short-term missions trip? E-mail us at shorttermmissions@bmaamissions.org to get the process started. Short-term missions is here to stay.

When done well and kept in perspective great things can happen. Churches become energized about the Great Commission. Church members develop a “world Christian” philosophy. Missionaries feel supported and loved. People traveling to the mission field realize that God has placed a special call on their lives to become life-long missionaries. We must be involved in short-term missions. The question is, are we going to do short-term missions in a way that helps plant churches and grow the Kingdom of Christ? We can! You have a mission! We can help! n
