The Purbeck Gazette Stoborough First School Celebrate!
S
toborough First School are celebrating the installation of their exciting and physically challenging Playdale adventure trail.
The project has been funded by the School Parent Teachers Association (PTA), a generous donation from The Wareham Round Table for a traversing wall and the funding of a ‘wobble board’ from Stoborough Nursery.
It is truly a joint project that has involved the whole community and will be of lasting value to future generations of children at the School.
Darren Marklew, Head Teacher, said that he was ‘very grateful for all the support for the project which provides a great opportunity for children to exercise in a fun way and enjoy being outside’.
Wareham Round Table community services liaison officer, Anthony Muraro, wished the children of Stoborough School many happy years of playing on the adventure trail and noted that Round Table’s donation wouldn’t have been possible without the support of local businesses and residents for Round Table’s fundraising efforts.
ABC Charity Golf Day! In aid of the Army Benevolent Fund
T
he Armour Centre in Bovington has organised a charity golf event in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund. The event will take place on Weds 4th May at the fantastic
Dorset
Golf and Country Club and will be open to 104 entrants, who will each be charged an entrance fee.
Local businesses, such as Milburn Finance (below) have kindly
sponsored a variety of prizes and raffle tickets will be available on the day to spectators. Prizes available are pretty spectacular - from Balloon rides, track days and weekend breaks to a car, kindly donated by Westover! Definitely something worth winning to tempt everyone!
Now, more than ever, the army require public support and much-needed funds to care for soldiers who are no longer able to be on active duty due to injury, also offering support to their families during this time of need.
There are a few places still available if you want to be in with a chance of winning a super prize and helping to raise money for this much- needed charity.
Wareham Round Table raises money for local charities and good causes through its fundraising events like the Wareham BEEREX Beer festival which takes place every Easter.
