From April 4th to the 8th Rock Eagle is hosting their 3rd annual Spring Break Camp for children between the ages of 6 and 11 years old. Each day campers learn about the world around them while having fun in the outdoor environment that Rock Eagle has to offer. This year’s themes are Survival Kids, Awesome
Aviators, Fish Tales, Eco Detectives, and Helping Hands. Camp Ecoadventure is a fantastic way for a child to spend their spring break. One of overriding themes for Camp Ecoadventure is learning about the 3 R’s (Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling).
Campers will be taught the importance of recycling by sorting and weighing their trash after snack and lunch. During this activity, campers learn what items are recyclable or compostable, and which items are not. By the end of the week campers will be proficient at sorting their waste. “Last year, several campers even reported that they encouraged their household to start recycling” said Coordinator Becky Collins. This year, Camp Ecoadventure is excited to welcome 30 campers for a weeklong outdoor adventure that they will remember for a lifetime.
