Gardening TIPS
• Increase the watering of indoor and conservatory plants as days lengthen.
• Check if plants need watering at least every few days.
• Liquid feed once plants show signs of growth
• Begin feeding citrus plants with a proprietary citrus feed, or using a high nitrogen feed with added trace elements.
• Clean shiny-leaved plants with a damp cloth and spiky plants with a soft brush
• Brush up fallen compost and debris and pick off dead leaves from plants. This will help prevent pests and disease spreading.

Research has shown that gardening of any kind from mowing a lawn to nurturing a house plant is good for you. you’ve not tried it before now is a good time to start.

HOUSEPLANTS l Keep weeds under control
l Plant summer-flowering bulbs such as alliums, lilies and gladioli
l Feed roses, soft fruit and container plants with fertilizer – organic is the best type
l Remove tired winter bedding and plants that did not survive the winter
l Watch out for late frosts, protect your tender plants

l In our community garden we use compost which is made from the food waste collected from the council’s recycling scheme.
