Announces Name Change

Celebrate National EMS Week With New EMS Week Ideas Site

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) has just launched a new EMS Week Ideas web site, www.emsweekideas.org, to help our nation’s EMS practitioners cele‐ brate their profession during National EMS Week, May 15‐21. The site, hosted by NAEMT and sponsored by EMS World, helps EMS practitioners explore new ways to celebrate, participate in, support and grow their profession. The site presents a wealth of ideas for engaging in the full spectrum of EMS activities. EMS practitioners can gather information on advancing their career, staying safe on the job, becom‐ ing an advocate for EMS, increasing

public awareness, and recognizing and supporting the profession’s heroes and history. Additional resources on each page help practitioners consider new activities of interest and assist them in getting started.

NAEMT President Connie Meyer urges EMS practitioners across the nation to get involved, stating, “Take advantage of the EMS Week Ideas web site to find out more about what you can do in the EMS profession and to share the best of EMS with your com‐ munity.”

The site is now live, so please visit us at: www.emsweekideas.org. EMS

The Board of Directors of the International Association of Flight Paramedics (IAFP), is pleased to announce that the Association has changed our name. The new name of the former IAFP is theInternational Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP). The name change was necessary in order to ade‐ quately represent the diversity of our membership. Our membership is the highest it has ever been due to combin‐ ing air and ground components of criti‐ cal care paramedic transport. The name change was not taken lightly, almost two years of debate, discussion and surveying the membership, went into making this decision. Please join us in supporting the new association and name while benefiting from the strength in greater numbers. The IAFCCP is dedicated to providing advocacy, leadership development and educational opportunities for critical care paramedics. We strive to strength‐ en and unite critical caregivers to enhance safe, efficient and quality patient care world wide. EMS

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) is the only national membership association for EMS practitioners, including Paramedics, EMTs, First Responders, and other professionals working in prehospital emergency medicine. More than 32,000 NAEMT members work in all sectors of EMS, including government third service agencies, fire departments, hospital-based ambulance ser- vices, private companies, industrial and special operations settings and in the military. NAEMT is the united voice representing all EMS prac- titioners on the issues that matter most. For more information, visit www.naemt.org.
