NEW MANUFACTURING BASE ESTABLISHED IN NIGERIA

Aluroll is pleased to announce the launch of Aluroll Nigeria to manufacture and supply security shutters and garage doors to trade installers throughout West Africa. A factory unit is currently being erected in Lagos to manufacture the full range of Aluroll products.

A member of the Commonwealth of Nations, Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country with a population of 150 million. This makes one in every six Africans a Nigerian. It is also one of the largest oil producers on the continent creating huge inflows of foreign income. Without question it holds enormous commercial potential as recent governments have focused on developing the non-oil economy. The international business community increasingly sees Nigeria as the central driver of a vast African market that remains the last under-developed commercial market in the world.

Base Concepts & Design has been Aluroll's trading partner in Nigeria for over 5 years and the volume of business has steadily increased year on year. They import a range of security products from all over the world for both domestic and commercial customers. Historically, Aluroll has sent manufactured security shutters and garage doors by air and sea on a job by job basis. However, it has become increasingly apparent that the lead time and associated freight costs can sometimes have a negative effect on sales.

To overcome the transport inefficiencies and overbearing cost of getting finished goods to the end user, Ademola Okulaja of Base Concepts and Designs and Frank Nwabudike of Montizen Nigeria joined forces with the sole aim of establishing a manufacturing plant in Lagos and they approached Aluroll to discuss the viability of manufacturing finished product in Nigeria. Aluroll's initial involvement was purely in an advisory capacity, but it soon became clear from extensive market research that all parties could benefit from each other's specific areas of expertise. The concept of Aluroll Nigeria was born.

Ademola said “Aluroll Nigeria will manufacture and supply roller garage doors and security shutters through a network of distributors and installers. Sadly, security is an ever present concern in Nigeria and permanent iron burglar bars are a common feature in homes and businesses, causing issues for architects and builders in terms of both aesthetics and emergency evacuation provision. The concept of electric security shutters was therefore welcomed with open arms when introduced into the Nigerian Market by Base Concepts and Designs.”

Ademola continued “With the technical and manufacturing support provided by Aluroll, we can offer clients a high quality security solution in a matter of days. For example, we recently installed 5 large warehouse shutters for the Maersk Line shipping Company workshop in Lagos and the credibility of Aluroll and the quality of their product offer enabled us to secure the order.”

500 ROLLER GARAGE DOOR CONTRACT WON FOR LUXURY VILLA COMPLEX IN ABU DHABI.

Aluroll has won a contract through their distributor in Dubai, Nasco Trading, to manufacture and supply 500 E77 roller garage doors for a complex of luxury villas in Abu Dhabi. Construction is advancing on the luxurious villas that are the cornerstone of the first phase of the exclusive Saadiyat Beach Residence community. A range of three- to eight-bedroom villas, are on schedule for handover to residents in the second quarter of 2011.

Dave Barwick, General Manager of Aluroll, who visited site to assist with the installation of the first 8 doors, commented “The roller doors are being supplied in a range of specialist painted and foil finishes designed to cope with the local environment. The high security rating of the LPCB approved E77 product was a key factor in the client's decision making process”.
