Trek through Cornwall

Of all the ways to experience the beautiful places of Cornwall, seeing it on horseback must be one of the most relaxing.

Explore the countryside and the beaches of Cornwall with a form of transport which is ideally suited to the beauty and tranquility of this wonderful place.

Make your way into areas not often seen by other people, where you and your horse, can be at peace with your surroundings.

Cornwall has many riding schools who cater to all ages and levels of riding ability.

Whether you're an experienced rider confident to explore on your own or a novice wanting to join a group to make your first journey on horseback, Cornwall can provide you with the riding school to meet your needs.

Many of the riding schools offer riding holidays with accommodation on site or with local hoteliers so you can spend your holiday on horseback or learning to ride.

So, whatever you need: riding instruction for individuals and groups; hacking; pony trekking; beach and coastal riding; moorland rides; pub

rides; stables; Cornwall's riding schools will have the solution for you.

Anything from one hour treks to two weeks of riding tuition.

Riding schools are located throughout Cornwall from Land's End in the far west across the wide expanse of Bodmin Moor to the Tamar River in the north and east.

Public bridleways provide one means of access into the Cornish countryside with miles of public rights of way designated for use by horseriders. Most bridleways will be signposted or marked with a blue arrow.

Additionally, it is possible to access other areas of the Cornish countryside where the right has been established by local custom and consent.

These include: numerous large areas of open country such as moorland and coastal areas; some forests and woods, particularly those in the ownership of the Forestry Commission; most beaches; country parks and picnic areas; tow paths beside rivers; some private trackways; some National Trust owned land; and some common land.

Each riding school will have details of rider access in their area.
