So wherever you are in Cornwall a stroll across the sand or a game of beach rounders is only a maximum of 16 miles away. And with over 300 beaches to choose from you never have to visit the same one twice!
Head to the north coast if you fancy a day stretched out on a large expense of golden sand watching Atlantic waves breaking on the shore with surfers following in their wake.
Or for secluded coves and sheltered bays make your way to the south coast. But rest assured - whatever beach you choose it will be blessed with the clear waters and
picturesque views that put Cornwall's beaches among the best in the world.
So that Cornwall's beaches can be enjoyed by everyone many have facilities for visitors with disabilities. A number of beaches also have sand chairs available for hire.
Cornwall's beaches are also popular with our four legged friends and there are a number which are dog friendly all year round. However some beaches operate a seasonal dog ban from Easter day to October 1st. Please remember that in hot weather beaches may not be the ideal place to take your dog.

PRAA SANDS - Parking: Two car parks at the western end of the beach. Facilities: Beach shops, cafe, restaurant and toilets. Activities: Popular surfing beach. Safety: Lifeguards on duty. Dogs: No dogs (Easter to October). Nearest town: Helston.
DAYMER BAY - Parking: Large car park by the beach. Facilities: Shop, cafe and toilets. Pubs, cafes, surfing beach, surfboard hire and tuition in nearby Polzeath. Dogs: Dogs allowed. Nearest town: Wadebridge.
HOLYWELL BAY - Parking: National Trust car park, 5 minute walk from the beach. Facilities: Beach shop, takeaway, pub and toilet. Activities: Surfing. Dogs: Dogs allowed. Nearest town: Newquay.
POLDHU COVE - Parking: Car park by the beach. Facilities: Shop, cafe and toilets. Activities: Surfing. Dogs: No dogs (Easter to October). Nearest town: Lizard and Falmouth.
SWANPOOL BEACH - Parking: One large car park by the beach. Facilities: Cafe, restaurant, beach shop, changing rooms and toilets. Activities: Mini golf. Dogs: No dogs (Easter to October). Nearest town: Falmouth.
HAYLE TOWANS BEACH - Parking: There is a car park in the caravan/campsite near the beach. Lifeguard service: Lifeguard service in summer. Dogs: No dogs (Easter to October). Nearest town: Hayle.

LAMORNA COVE - Parking: Two small car parks, one by the beach and one on the quay.. Facilities: Cafe and toilets. Activities: Popular with divers. Dogs: Dogs allowed. Nearest town: Penzance.
PORTHPEAN BEACH - Parking: Large car park. Facilities: Toilets and snack bar on the promenade. The beach is home to Porthpean Sailing Club. Activities: None. Dogs: No dogs (Easter to October). Nearest town: St Austell.
TREYARNON BAY - Parking: One car park. Facilities: Beach shop and toilets. Activities: Surfing. Safety: Lifeguards in summer Dogs: Dogs allowed. Nearest town: St Merryn and Padstow.
