Discover the beautiful Isles of Scilly
Whether it’s a first, or one of many visits to these unique islands, as a source of rest and relaxation the islands are hard to beat.
Travel 28 miles South West of Cornwall and you come across this idyllic group of sub-tropical islands.
The unspoilt natural habitat is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) for over 30 years.
Scilly consists of five inhabited islands with a population of about 2000. The islands have been inhabited since stone-age times with its residents living off the sea and the land.
Growing Narcissi flowers, fishing and farming are still part of the islands economy but the locals warmly welcome visitors to their shores.
The Islands are characterized by some of the best beaches in Britain, white sandy coves, an abundance of rare and interesting wildlife, over 60 miles of trails and footpaths, a haven of flora and fauna, unspoilt landscapes, hive of artistic activity and good local food.
No surprise that Puffins, seals and rare birds like to spend time here year after year.
Ideal for families, couples and solo travellers wanting to escape to Britain’s best kept secret.
Activities for the visitor include sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, horse riding by the sea, painting, wildlife tours, archaeology walks, sea fishing, photography, coastal walking, cycling, golfing, wine tasting, diving with seals and boat trips to uninhabited islands.
Scillonian III, the passenger ferry, sails from March 26, six days a week during the summer reducing to four days during October before the end of the season on October 29 – the journey takes approximately two hours 40 minutes each way.
Take in the spectacular South
Cornish coastline as you cruise to the islands.
Quaint Cornish fishing coves, the world renowned open air Minack Theatre, and watch the Land's End peninsula slip quietly by.
Wildlife experts are regularly onboard to assist passengers and carry out surveys on marine and wildlife activity so if you are lucky you may see dolphins, rare birds, basking sharks or even a minke whale.
