Religious studies revision weekend
Our revision trip culminated in a Sunday morning ‘learning walk’ during which students planned through an essay. The sight of poorly- shoed, umbrella-bedecked city folk certainly turned a few heads, including attracting the attention of some over-friendly horses.
Our thanks go to every member of the group for their application, contribution to learning and for generally mucking in. Congratulations also go to Nicole Belcher for being voted as Religious Studies Super Star. We wish you all the very best for your revision this term and for the summer exams!
Ms Gill and Mr James
Last month, we took a group of Year 13 Religious Studies students on a revision weekend. We stayed at Micklepage, an 18th century barn and 14th century farmhouse maintained by a Christian charitable trust.
We arrived at dusk and immediately got to work, unpacking and collectively preparing dinner. Intellectual pursuits began before pudding, when pairs of students delivered mini revision activities.
After a sound night’s sleep, we were greeted with the sight of our picturesque surroundings and the sound of the quiet countryside as we made our way over to the converted barn for a whole day (9am – 10pm) of intensive revision and essay writing. Mr James and Ms Gill were impressed by the focus of the students and their self-reflection.... (And by their gullibility – thanks Anna Crichlow, for colluding in our prank involving a faked illness, mysterious phone call and secret door at the back of the farmhouse. If
RADA don’t accept you for your acting ability, they have missed out.)
