Jack Petchey Award winner


The Jack Petchey Award is given to students who have been nominated by staff and their peers and then the winners are inally chosen by their peers in order to recognise excellent role models, outstanding work and contributions to the school community.


The February Jack Petchey was awarded to Alice Hawkins in Y11


Alice Hawkins deserves to win this award as she is an excellent student, athlete and sport leader. She is a hardworking and self-motivated student.


For the past 5 years, Alice has been a member of the school swim team.


She is currently training 5 – 6 times a week with her swim club. She has early and after school training sessions. She hopes to become a member of the national squad. She supports Mrs Pickard with the GCH swim team. Mrs Pickard says, "She has trained the Year 7-9 swimming teams this year. She attends club on a Wednesday after school giving up her own time to coach . She also attends all the galas and takes full responsibility for the school team. She is a role model for the younger students."


She is a talented athlete, coach and leader. She supports her peers and motivates the younger students. Stained glass window appeal GOAL £25,000 Janette Parish
