Hallmark begins talks with workers over restructuring
The greetings card giant says it has undergone a comprehensive review of all areas of its business and as a result will be establishing a new structure. The move has prompted fears of job losses among the 450 employees of the UK operation, which is headquartered in Bradford. As part of the reorganisation Hallmark Cards has begun a consultation
process with its employees to assess the future needs of the business. Once the consultation is complete the fi nal detail of the new structure will be announced. All employees across the organisation have been made aware of the process and will be involved, and kept up to date every step of the way, through elected representation. Steve Wright, Hallmark Cards UK, Managing Director said: “We believe the changes we are making will give greater insight into our customers’ needs and challenges, create a superior approach to developing and delivering exciting products and guarantee more effi cient processes throughout the entire organisation to ensure a competitive and successful business for our customers, employees and stakeholders alike. “Hallmark Cards UK, is a trusted and respected brand that is rooted in the community and has always had a strong sense of decency and quality running through every aspect of its business. We need to ensure the organisation is in great shape to continue that tradition into an exciting future and we believe the steps we are taking now are crucial to delivering that outcome,” concluded Wright.
Major donation by Little Dog
The Little Dog were delighted to offi cially present a cheque to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home at this year’s 120th Crufts Dog Show for money raised from their Give a Dog/ Cat a Home project.
The two books written and illustrated by the Little Dog’s creative director Anna Danielle featured the amazing true stories of some of Battersea’s ex-residents. Even better, the books have been given a second reprint so it’s possible that the current £8732 total could be even higher.

Robert Fuller on film!
The artist behind wildlife greeting card publisher The Robert Fuller Gallery featured on BBC Countryfi le on Sunday April 3rd last. Robert Fuller took a fi lm crew from the popular BBC series on a tour of the Yorkshire Wolds last week to show them how he fi nds subjects for his paintings. “They spent a whole day with me. They wanted to see how I go about fi nding wildlife and studying them for my paintings. “They also wanted to fi lm some
hares, which I found easily for them, and some barn owls,” Robert Fuller said. He continued: “Unfortunately the barn owls weren’t so forthcoming and fl ew away before the cameraman got set up.” He added: “It was exciting to meet the presenter Julia Bradbury and with
Countryfi le having an average of 5.5 million viewers, I hope this will give all the shops that stock my cards a boost!” The Robert Fuller Gallery publishes greeting cards taken directly from Robert Fuller’s paintings. [Robert Fuller is pictured with Julia Bradbury as well as a general location

teaming up again to become the Little Dog’s chosen charity for 2011, they will be the main benefi ciaries from sales across the entire Little Dog Laughed Christmas range. Company Director Gavin Smith said “It would be such an achievement for a little company like ours to break the £10K mark so we are working hard to make our Christmas offerings too lovely to ignore. The only downside of working with Battersea is having to strongly resist the urge to come home with fi fteen winsome scruffy mutts!” [Pictured {right} is Little Dog creative director Anna Danielle who wrote and illustrated the books, handing a cheque to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home CEO, Claire Horton.
