Hitting the green from an elevated tee requires true marksmanship. Ron Jaworski Management aims to provide the

ultimate golf experience, with exceptional service from the parking lot to the after round meal, using the latest in technologies, fundamental business and customer service practices. The goal is to have customers leave feeling like they belong and want to come back again and again. Jaworski has been able to grow his golf manage-

ment company to 300 employees and $10 million in revenue. He takes a sports-minded approach to hiring employees and gauging their work ethic. “People that have been involved with athletics are used to working hard,” Jaworski says. “They’re used to being coached. They’re used to being trained. They’re used to having thick skin.” He also creates a competitive, motivating envi-

ronment through team building exercises such as softball games, and open lines of communication. “You hire the right people, you train them

appropriately and then you let themgo andmonitor their performance,” he says. “If you micromanage people and question everything that they do, then you lose them, you don’t empower them. And I’m a big believer in celebrating the small wins along the way. You need to celebrate those victories, those short-term goals that you achieve so that you keep your people inspired.” Jaworski’s other New Jersey golf clubs — the

semi-public Valleybrook in Blackwood, and Running Deer in Pittsgrove — are also on the rebound. Valleybrook has been called a great golf value, with the top of the rate card only $55 and 9-hole rates as low as $17. Its classic design offers a mix of flat and hilly terrain and fairly tight fairways with scenic panoramic views, accessible to golfers of all skill levels. Golfers will find water coming into play nine times throughout the round as well as some elevation changes, making proper club selection off the tee a must. Running Deer, billed as the premier golf and

wedding facility in South Jersey, is kicking off the 2011 season with Eagle Golf Club passes, new wedding packages and a fresh pub menu. Jaworski’s son, Running Deer GM B.J. Jaworski, admits the course was “a little run down when we took over, but we’ve got it snapped back into shape in just the few months that we’ve been here. There’s already buzz being generated about what we’re doing here.” Ron Jaworski says “fear” inspired him to form

his golf management company in 1980: the fear of knowing that any play in the violent world of football could be his last, and that he needed a
