Classical monochrome
Here’s another angle on Henk’s range of creative styles – fine art monochrome.
The images are not plain greyscale, but RGB with a subtle warmth that demands very good colour management. Like the primary colours, that makes them difficult to show accurately in a normal maga- zine. There is always a risk that the chlorobromide-like tones (similar to Kodak Bromesko Royal paper, or Agfa Portriga Rapid, in traditional black and white materials) will turn a hint magenta, green or cool off too much.
Getting exactly the right monochrome colour is part of the skill required to make award-winning prints.
Getting consistently matched monochrome colour also makes displays in your studio look bet- ter. And it’s essential for sets of exhibition prints.
