PATH TO CELEBRATION: Chandler’s Paseo Trail is finished after 10 years of construction and will be dedicated April 2 in conjunction with the annual Chandler Family Bike Ride.
The event is in conjunction with the annual Chandler Family Bike Ride which begins at 9 a.m. at Tumbleweed Park. Bicyclists will follow the scenic Paseo Trail north to the halfway point of the ride at Tibshraeny Family Park, where they can enjoy a break and participate in the Trail’s dedication ceremony before turning back south.
“Our founder, Dr. A.J. Chandler, actually helped start the Consolidated Canal in 1891, long before we became a town, and it helped shape our history,” Mayor Tibshraeny says. “Thanks to this project, it has become a true recreation and transportation amenity that everyone can enjoy. It not only connects people to places but more importantly it connects people with people.”
