As spring flirts with summer, warmer temperatures have SanTan Sun area parents thinking about ways to help their families stay cool without, hopefully, turning on their air conditioners.

When the high temps hit, grab a towel and sunscreen, and take the kids down to one of Chandler’s spray and splash pads. They offer unique water features that can’t be found at the city’s pools or aquatic centers.

Here is a handy list of area spray and splash pads to help parents locate the one nearest to them. Normal hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in April, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May through August, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. September through October and closed November through March – but remember, hours are seasonal and subject to change based on weather conditions. RING O’ WATER: Located at Dobson Road between Queen Creek and Germann roads, Chuparosa Park offers one ground spray, four spray rings and one candy cane shaped shower.
ANIMAL AID: Three spraying dolphins, one elephant and three ground sprays keep kids cool at Desert Breeze Park, located between Rural Road and McClintock Drive, and between Ray Road and Chandler Boulevard

HIGH TIDE: One giant water tower, three candy cane shaped showers, spray rings and ground sprays are available at Espee Park, located on Knox Road between Arizona Avenue and McQueen Road.
