INDULGENCES outrageous by daisy torres & jessica d’nalga Jessica: Hey now, don’t forget about me! I planned the surprise, and the look on your
face when everyone showed up was priceless. For a second, it looked like you thought you were the subject of an intervention! We had a few stiff drinks and took some pics with the family. It was a great celebration. Everyone brought their A-game that night! Daisy: The biggest event in March was Hillcrest Mardi Gras. Every year this block party gets bigger and better. We always get lucky because the rain seems to stay away, allow- ing us to have some fun with the boys who want to steal our beads away. The VIP tent is always full of fun people, delicious food from local restaurants like Baja Betty’s and R Gang Eatery and bartenders pouring free beer and wine. The best part of the night was the performance by Wendy Ho. Wow, that girl is funny and sooo naughty! Jessica: Girl… how many beads did you get? As you all know, part of the fun at Mardi
Gras is earning beads and giving them away. We saw some hot guys and others who weren’t so hot, but I suppose that’s why they invented Mardi Gras masks. We ended up with plenty of beads for next year. Looking forward in April, there are many fun events to attend, so get those outfits
ready, polish that bling and start filling up that social calendar. It’s spring now, and the good weather means we can dress to impress instead of dressing to stay warm. Daisy: On April 10, I will be attending the GLAAD Media Awards in L.A., so next month
I will have the 411 and pictures of the celebrities who attended. Each year this gala hon- ors the years most outstanding representations of the LGBT community. I’m so excited! A very special happy birthday goes out to three amazing guys who will celebrate
their birthdays on April 23 at Eden. Chef Scotty, our very own editor Joel and our hand- some Rage model, Nate will party it up. So here’s to our three handsome gentlemen. Don’t forget to BLOW…out the candles and make a wish. Daisy: Easter is always a special time to get together with family (blood family or gay
family). We always try to get the pussycat family together and this year we will be head- ing to Top of the Park for Easter Brunch, Sunday, April 24. With six different food stations and free-flowing Champagne, what else could we ask for? Jessica: Sis, you can have fun eating and socializing, what I want to do is find those eggs–all colors, shapes and sizes! Wait... are they even having an egg hunt? Regardless, get to their website:
parkmanorsuites.com and make your table reservations today. Did we mention its only $36.95 per person plus tax and gratuity? What a great deal! It always feels great to help others so we invite everyone to a special fundraiser for
ADVENTURES DAISY AND JESSICA’S March was a packed month for us. How was it for you? We hope you took advantage
of every single event that San Diego had to offer, ‘cuz girl you know we did. We went to so many great events, it’s hard to decide where to start our recap. The March Hare’s advice, “Start at the beginning... and when you get to the end... stop” is probably best, so we’ll start with Daisy’s birthday celebration on March 1, which was celebrated with the rest of the pussycat family. It was a great time and we have the pictures to prove it. We all dressed up to attend the special performance of Aubrey O’day at Eden. Since it opened, Eden has consistently brought a diverse selection of special performers. Check our events calendar each month to stay informed about upcoming performers at what is becoming one of the hottest new spots in our gayborhood. Daisy: Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes and thanks to my pussycat fam- ily who surprised me that night, Barbara, Martha and Alex. I had so much fun, you’re all the best.
the Tijuana orphanage “Casa La Gloria” April 25 at the new Monday Latin Night at The Flame. Drinks and entertainment are always a great combination, so we hope you can make it to Cygnet Theater’s Out at the Cygnet. It’s a special night for us to see Cabaret on April 27. cygnettheater.com Daisy: As Jessica mentioned earlier, I have started a new blog so I want to invite every-
one to read it each week on the Rage Monthly website. I wanted to write a little about what goes on in my life aside from the fabulous events around town so my weekly diary will let you guys in on what Daisy is thinking and going through. Check for it every Friday. Jessica: Ha! Now people will really know how crazy you are! Just kidding, I love you
sister! Yeah, check it out and keep your eyes and ears open for some new surprises! And keep your eyes open for a fabulous new Memorial Day weekend bash on May 29th—brought to you by three sexy studs! I’ll have ALL the details in next month’s issue!
