0TH ANNUAL MAMA’S DAY EXTRAVAGANZA

Nothing beats mama’s cooking! …unless it’s the massive

yearly gastronomic gala highlighting the talents of more than 50 chefs from exquisite eateries all over San Diego County. That’s right, Mama’s Kitchen has finally crossed over from “teenage dream” to “tantalizing 20-something.” In celebration, we are invited to gussy up and assemble at the gorgeous Hyatt Regency La Jolla Aventine for Mama’s Day 2011 on Friday, May

6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fundraising is serious business—with serious benefits! Not only will our palate be

pleasured at our leisure, we will have the satisfaction of knowing that our dollars are ben- efiting multiple causes. Primarily, the clients of Mama’s Kitchen will be ensured three hot, nutrition-specific, fresh-cooked meals per day delivered to them free of charge. These are our fellow San Diegans who have been affected either by AIDS or cancer. The event chairperson of this year’s bash is Larry Rinehart of Giuseppe Catering in La Jolla. He is joined by Culinary Host Sam “The Cooking Guy” and Emcee Vic Salazar. The night has been organized so that soothing music, delectable samplings of inspired cuisine and rousing activities lift the senses for the duration of the evening—allowing guests the opportunity to bid on a broad array of silent auctions. The night is full of opportunities to win outstanding prizes. See drawing selections to the right! Tickets are $125 per person in advance and $150 at the door. Premium VIP tickets are

available at $250 per person and will grant private access to the VIP Poolside Cabana Lounge with hosted bar service and premium wine, beer, vodka cocktails and refresh- ments. For you sly ones, $75 of each standard ticket is tax-deductible; $175 of each VIP ticket is tax-deductible. VIPs can also look forward to attending an exclusive ap- preciation party at the W Hotel on Friday, April 8th. Tickets may be purchased online at mamaskitchen.org. Sponsorships are also available and there are still great opportuni- ties for chefs and restaurants to participate. For more information, contact Kim Sontag at 619.233.6262 or send an e-mail to kim@mamaskitchen.org. The need to “nourish hearts one meal at a time” comes naturally, but only you can make the process possible.
