Teacher of the Year Award. Teachers are nominated by their peers and within each town a teacher is selected from the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Selections are narrowed up through the district and the state. Pelham’s teachers truly shined this year and were honored at the District Luncheon on Sunday. Patricia Zube of the Pelham Elementary School and a Hudson resident won the District 6 Teacher of the Year for the elementary school level. Zube then went on to win elementary level Teacher of the Year for the entire State of New Hampshire. That awards banquet was held back in January. The Pelham VFW is very proud of Pelham’s teachers. They, along with other VFW Program winners such as Patriot’s Pen, Police/Firefighter of the Year, and more, will be honored locally at a Loyalty Day Awards Dinner being held on May 6 at the St. Patrick’s Parish Center starting at 6 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend and support these fine patriotic citizens. The cost of tickets includes a steak and chicken dinner, and can be purchased by contacting Mark McCabe, Commander of the Pelham VFW, at 635-1540, or Jorg Dreusicke, Quartermaster, at 635-2119. Congratulations to all the winners!
