ARC Sunday

The Arthur Rank Centre is dedicated to supporting thriving rural churches and their communities in the countryside. This work can only survive with support in all its forms, in particular, the prayers and interest of our supporters are so very important.

ARC’s financial needs certainly don’t get any less, financial support is vital and always welcome. Each year our small charity must raise between £50,000 and £100,000, or projects like the Rural Stress Helpline, Care Farming, Computers for Rural People and all the help and support we provide for churches simply will not happen.

It is a mountainous challenge, but how often do we find that our needs are met, the money is found, the work gets done. There is so much to give thanks for.

ARC Sunday this year on 26 June 2011 will be a special day in the year when our supporters

and the wider Christian community can focus on the needs of the rural and farming community and its churches, share all the wonderful work that is happening and pray for the people who live, work and worship in the countryside. Will your church join us?

There will be a pack of special prayers, sermon materials and other practical aids to help churches incorporate ARC Sunday into their worship coming during May and will be available on our website: www.arthurrankcentre.org.uk . Join us in remembering the rural and farming communities, in reflecting on the worship that happens there; and giving thanks for the Rural Officers and Agricultural Chaplains working hard across the country to support those in need.

Please join us on ARC Sunday, 26 June 2011. The ARC works hard on behalf of those who live, work and worship in the countryside and we need the support of congregations both rural and urban on ARC Sunday. Thank you.

Computers for Rural People

The Arthur Rank Centre has set up the Computers for Rural People scheme to provide computers at very low cost to encourage people to take the first step in computing and exploring the internet at a really low price.

We can provide a computer of your own, pre-loaded with Microsoft software (Windows XP and Office 2007), and delivered to your door with three months warranty, to get you started. A fully functioning computer costs as little as £139 or £59 with special offers.

If you need more than one computer for a school or drop-in centre the prices are even lower. All we ask is that you make a voluntary donation of £12 minimum to the Arthur Rank Centre to cover our costs and support our charitable activities.
