Rebecca “Becky” Burnette DuFour ’82 has been named to the Board of Trustees at Lynchburg College. Since graduating from LC she has been a teacher, school administrator, and central office coordinator. For the last several years, she and her husband Richard have been educational consultants on professional learning communities at work. She lives in Moneta, Va.
Janice “Jan” Carter Wiley ’82 M.Ed. is a special education teacher for Lynchburg City Schools. In April 2010, she was named Lynchburg City Schools teacher of the year, and then, in September, she was named teacher of the year for Region 5, which includes nine- teen school divisions from Harrisonburg to Rustburg, Va. This honor made her eligible for becoming teacher of the year for the entire state of Virginia. Jan lives in Lynchburg, Va.
Nathaniel “Nat” Marshall ’83, LC trustee, was named chairman of the State Board for Community Colleges, which oversees twenty-three community colleges statewide with a $500 million budget. Nat was elected to the position unanimously and stated that his top priority is to extend the reach of Virginia’s community colleges to underserved populations. Nat lives in Lynchburg, Va.
Jacqueline “Jacky” Naylor Connelly ’84 is an accountant with Morris County Conservation District in Morristown, N.J. Her daughter Sarah started college in 2009 at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa., as an international business major. Jacky and her husband, Jack, live in Stanhope, N.J.

Joseph “Joe” Martin ’84 received the Sports Hall of Fame Award at Homecoming 2010. While at LC, he served as captain for the track and field team, received athletic letters all four years for indoor and outdoor track, and the Outdoor Track-Senior award. He was All-
Conference in three events, finished third in the nation for cross country and eleventh in the nation for outdoor track. He currently holds the record for the Indoor Track Sprint Medley. He graduated from LC with a degree in business administration and served as assistant cross country and track coach at Osceola High School and Poinciana High School in Kissimmee, Fla. Joe is also a member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and is the owner of Joe Martin Event Management in Kissimmee, where he resides with his wife, Kathy.
