Elizabethan age. Described by one reviewer as a “feminist study,” and by another as “an important historiographical work,” it has been awarded The Adele Mellen Prize “for its distinguished contribution to scholar- ship.” Dr. Potter and his wife Dorothy “Bundy” Turner ’64 are history professors at Lynchburg College and live in Lynchburg.
Sherrard Coleman Foster ’67 has had her debut novel, Afterthoughts, published by Vantage Press in New York. Sherrard worked for almost a decade on a new marine sanctuary in the coastal waters of Massa- chusetts. Currently, despite her struggles with multiple sclerosis, she writes from her home in Arlington, Va.
Dennis Craddock ’67 was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Coach of the Year for the 2010 indoor track and field season. Dennis is in his twenty- sixth year as the head men’s and women’s track and field coach at the University of North Carolina. He lives in Henderson, N.C.
Leslie “Les” Bell Jr. ’59 took a trip to Minnesota with his wife Eleanor and enjoyed lunch and an afternoon with Brian and Diane Bergset Wermager ’62 in Brainerd, Minn. Les and Diane had last seen each other in spring 1960 at LC before Diane transferred to Concordia College in Minn. Les lives in Portsmouth, Va.
Charles “Chuck” Tooley ’68, the former mayor of Billings, Mont., was selected as the Institute for Peace Studies 2010 Jeannette Rankin Peace Award recipient. Chuck had the distinction of being nominated by an entire class of upper-level political students at Rocky Mountain College. He lives in Billings, Mont.

Jack Toms ’69 was one of six inductees to be enshrined in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame. Before Toms’ retirement from LC’s track and field and cross country coaching positions in 2010, he captured his forty-seventh and forty-eighth league track and field titles and his sixty-first and sixty-second overall. He produced eighty-seven USTFCCCA All-Americans, twelve NCAA champions, ten USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional Athletes of the Year, and three USTFCCCA National Athletes of the Year. He is currently LC’s director of athletics and lives in Forest, Va.
The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Wilmington Alumni Clubs invite members and all baseball fans to attend this exciting game in Washington, D.C. Watch for additional information.
