Raw organic plant-based foods, especially high-quality fats and oils (avocado and coconut oil in particular), can restore elasticity to the tissues. Green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale provide fibre and alkalinity to help sweep us clean on the inside. Foods with a high proportion of silica, such as the herb horsetal, and magnesiumrich cacao can restore mineral density to the bones, hair and teeth.
Going raw is really a matter of making the decision to feel better. You can start easily by slowly making a few new food choices at a time. For example, instead of choosing to consume the wheat, dairy and sugar in a bowl of cereal, try a combination of fresh fruits, nuts and seeds. You’ll find them energising and satisfying. A raw breakfast can set you up to continue with the raw theme throughout the day. If you feel you need some cooked foods during the day, have them. Yet, you may be surprised by how quickly and easily your appetite for raw food develops.

Quite literally “we are what we eat,” and the profound connection between what we eat and how we feel at any moment is a concept that everyone needs to really understand and not, pardon the pun, just pay lip service to. I now understand that what I eat today will have a huge impact on how I feel tomorrow. Different foods fuel different types of thoughts, different emotions and lead to a different destination in life. What you ate yesterday is largely responsible for how you are feeling right now!
