Treat Knee Arthritis with Robotic Solution

R

ebound Orthopedics is back for an exciting event and exclusive oppor- tunity for MAC members. Integrative Fitness presents Treating Knee Arthritis: The Robotic Solution Thursday, April 7 at 6 p.m.

Members get a hands-on demonstra- tion with the latest treatment for knee pain. MAKOplasty, a robotic-assisted partial knee resurfacing procedure, is used to treat patients with osteoarthritis of the knee. MAKOplasty is less invasive than traditional knee replacement, allowing the surgeon to precisely remove only the diseased portion of the knee. Participants learn about the advantages to addressing arthritis early and how the latest tech- nology can help people with

chronic knee pain. This event is

an open-house

format for the fi rst 60 people who register. Todd

Borus, M.D., who helped pioneer the MAKOplasty procedure in

the Northwest, delivers a 15-minute overview of

the procedure. Afterward, the fl oor opens up to hands-on

demonstrations with Borus and discussions with

Rebound Orthopedic

Surgeon Dr. Alan Newman and Physical Therapist Michael Baer. Borus guides members through partial knee resurfacing as they control the MAKOplasty robot. Newman and Baer are available to answer questions and talk about the procedure, the rehabilitation, and their experience with MAKOplasty.
