If it goes down well, yes! If it goes down badly…eugh…I dread it! So with the passage of time, I suppose I am a little nervous, but it’s got to be done. And really, that’s how bands live or die, by their live performances. If a band doesn’t play live, then forget it, because they’re not going to  this album we might have to do more live gigs, and I might have to endure it!


MM: I really like the EP, I think it has a very contemporary sound. Was that a conscious decision, or did it happen organically?


 consciously tried to achieve in the album. Lately, I’ve noticed that as they get older, musicians of a certain age, particularly lead   for us, there’s absolutely no point in going down that route. It’s become a bit of   I was very conscious that the energy, the lyrics and particularly Martin, all had that youthful energy to them. Because Martin  and Jimi Hendrix, whenever I heard him     is not a trained musician, and I’m only sort    what sounds wrong. And the great thing about Martin is that because he’s not trained, he’s sort of pushing the boundaries, because there’s nothing to say he can’t do it This gives his guitar playing a real advantage, because he can try new things and do something


interesting where other people would   playing, and I don’t write songs because I have an album coming out in a year’s time. I write them as and when 


MM: Do you think that as a band, your limitations are an asset, rather than a hindrance then?


GT: That’s exactly it! And the other thing is, because I’m the one in charge,  Everybody has to satisfy me!


MM: Well, it sounds fantastic, and I can’t believe that you were all in separate rooms at different times of the year, recording it! So I think you can be really proud of it. So, to sum  legacy. How would you like The Vow to be remembered in years to come?


GT: Well, I would love for The Vow and  them to be out there in the mainstream. So many artists and musicians get respected after their  alive when my recognition comes!! I  somewhere in space saying ‘Why   what my measure of success would be, then I’m there now! I am happy with  that’s it there people to listen to. So 
