Now, I was rusty, but I was nowhere near as rusty as Martin was! He came around, we started jamming, and I told him about my idea for an acoustic album. I was going to do it by myself! But he said ‘I want to be involved!!’ What he’s doing is a little harder than what I was doing, because essentially I’m just   done seperately! Nobody’s played together, which is how it’s done nowadays. The drums played seperately, Martin played seperately, I played seperately.

But for us, neccessity was the mother of invention, and I just had to grab these people as and when I could! So he had to sit

there for hours, and bearing in mind he suffers from gout anyway, it wasn’t easy! But he loved being in the studio.

MM: It’s astounding really, and 13 songs…that’s an album!

GT: It’s more than an album! We had a few more songs initially recorded, which unfortunately had to be cut. We did a cover of Unintended by Muse, which is a beautiful song, but it had to go.
