Gordon Ramsey spices up Comic Relief

TV chef Gordon Ramsay and Coroniation Street star Shobna Gulati served up curry from a Brick Lane market stall for Comic Relief, as they launched the charity’s Seriously Good range of curry cooking sauces.

Gordon said, “We cooked up a storm, serving great tasting curry to the public for Red Nose Day. The new Indian range from Seriously Good went down a treat with the hordes of hungry crowds in Brick Lane.”

The new Seriously Good Indian range comprises Royal Korma, Aromatic Masala, Butter Chicken and Spicy Red Curry. At least 10p from every jar will go to the charity.

Newquay restaurant warned over under age drinking

A spice restaurant believed to have served alcohol to a 16-year-old on the night he died in Newquay has been warned, but allowed to keep its licence. Paddy Higgins was three times over the legal drink-drive limit when he fell

from cliffs in the Cornish resort in July 2009.

An inquest heard Paddy and some friends had been able to buy beer and spirits at the Indian Express restau- rant. Sub-committee chairman Jon

Stoneman said the warning sent a clear message that serving alcohol to people under age would not be tol- erated. “This warning, with any other infringements, means there could be further consequences for the prem- ises,” he told BBC News.
