for the past 12 years, is holding a concert on March 25 at Gold Canyon Methodist Church in Gold Canyon. The doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30.


Council spokesperson David B. Barton says that along with a three-piece combo, the group “brings new energy to the best arrangements of jazz standards and pop classics.”


Phoenix Vocal Jazz has been featured with The Phoenix Symphony Pops, The Phoenix Bach Choir on an all-Gershwin concert and The Phoenix Boys Choir on two of its annual pops concerts.


The concert is presented by Gold Canyon Arts Council. Tickets are available at the door for $25 for adults and $5 for students through high school. Advance tickets for adults can be purchased for $5 off at the Council’s Ticket and Information Offi ce located at Canyon Rose Storage, 6405 S. Kings Ranch Rd., Gold Canyon, or at the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce offi ce.

Annual art show held at Gold Canyon


The Artists of the Superstitions’ annual Spring Art Show is held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., April 17 at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort Big White Tent. Admission to the show is free to the public.

DESERT ART: Artists of the Superstitions sponsors its annual art show in Gold Canyon in April.


The show features the art of approximately 35 members of the Artists of the Superstitions for viewing and for sale, including fi ne art painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodworking and sculpture. TCA offers free concerts


The “Performance with a View” series at Tempe Center for the Arts offers informative, entertaining and informal performances by guest artists from a variety of artistic disciplines. Optional TCA Gallery and facility tours follow each performance.


Upcoming performances in the free series include the ASU Herberger String Quartet on Tue., April 19; Sherry Finzer and the Radiant Sky Trio on Tue., May 17; and Bob Ravenscroft on Tue., June 14.

AZ Arts Orchestra performs Phoenix Vocal Jazz, a six-voice ensemble that has delivered tight harmonies ‘Porgy and Bess Suite’ Valleywide


The Arizona Chamber Orchestra will perform its next concert series, Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess Suite,” March 31 through April 2 at locations throughout the Valley. In addition to Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess Suite,” the evening will include Ravel’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano” and Britten’s “Simple Symphony.” Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thu., March 31 at Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center; 7 p.m. Fri., April 1 at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix; and 8 p.m. Sat., April 2 at Tempe Center for the Arts. Tickets are $20 for general admission or $10 for students. The Arizona Chamber Orchestra is a professional ensemble committed to bringing high-quality performances of innovative programming to Arizona audiences.
