Come for a night of laughter and enjoy a Hypnotist Show while supporting the Workcamp Mission Trip participants of the youth group of Saints Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Regional School on Main Street in Salem. The show will be held in the school Auditorium at 7 p.m. The show is headlined by Master Hypnotist Peter J. Mamos. Come as a family for an evening of laughter and support our teens and their chaperones who will be repairing homes, building wheel-chair ramps, etc., for elderly and low-income families this summer. There is a small cost for tickets, with a discount for students and families.


Fridays, March 25, April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 The Rockingham Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice will sponsor Foot Clinics for individuals 60 years and older who are unable to perform their own foot care. Clients will receive a basic nail trimming and foot assessment, but no treatment of corns or calluses. Appointments are necessary for this clinic. Saturday, March 26 The Salem Boys & Girls Club will hold its 24th Annual Charity Auction at the Boys & Girls Club, 3 Geremonty Drive, Salem, from 5-9 p.m. This is a very important night for the Club because funds raised at the event finance the programs that serve more than 350 children daily and assist the Club in offering affordable memberships to more than 2,000 youth annually. There is a cost for the tickets, which will include dinner at 7:30 p.m. and a live auction at 8:45 p.m. The silent auction and reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.salembgc.org/ what/events/auction.asp or by contacting Martha Breen at 898-7709, ext. 16. The Club hopes you will join them in helping children and teens in our community.

The show will feature a variety of music, from the sounds of Las Vegas to country music, easy listening to old time rock ‘n roll, a touch of gospel, and even “The King”! Saturday, March 26 A homemade lasagna dinner will be held to support the Haiti Coalition Missioner’s trip coming up in May. Come enjoy Keith’s homemade lasagna, minestrone soup, tossed salad, Italian bread, dessert, and coffee or tea, all for a great cause. The dinner will be held at the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, 8 Pleasant Street, Salem, (at Call Hall) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The hall is accessible to the handicapped. School Activities


Wednesday, March 23 The second annual “Slice of Salem” will be held from 2:30-6 p.m. in the Salem High School Cafeteria. Local pizza restaurants will be on hand to compete for the best “Slice” in Salem! The entrance fee is just $5, which allows patrons to try a slice of pizza from every restaurant there, and at the end of the evening cast their vote for their favorite. Mark you calendars now for this event, which is sponsored by the Salem High School Class of 2014.

All members of the local business community are invited to a free Business Education Seminar entitled “Organize and Prioritize for Business Success! Tuesday, March 29 Salem Family Resources–Success By 6 will host a presentation by Charlie Appelstein from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Woodbury Middle School, 206 Main Street, Salem. Charlie Appelstein is an engaging, informative, and humorous speaker at national and international conferences. This is a rare opportunity for area families, educators, and others who work with children to hear Charlie’s presentation, “Responding Versus Reacting to Your Kids: Key Principles and Techniques for Effective Parenting,” which includes coping strategies that help parents stay calm under pressure, communication strategies, how, why, and when to use incentives and consequences to motivate behavior, and tips to prevent problem behaviors. Charlie Appelstein provides expert, strength-based trainings and is a noted author of three critically acclaimed books and the creator of two innovative CDs that helps kids and parents make better choices and lead happier lives. Sports & Recreation


Friday, March 25 Salem Youth Baseball will host the 2nd Annual Dinner Dance Fundraiser, which will be held at the Harris’ Pelham Inn at 7 p.m. This year’s theme is “First Pitch,” which represents the launching of our Challenger Division. The new Division will allow special needs children of all ages to participate in the great game of baseball. Funds raised from this event will help defer the costs of setting up the Challenger Division, as well as keep costs down for the other levels of baseball that we support. The evening will feature a DJ, a Baseball Idol Karaoke contest, delicious food, raffle items, silent auction, and a sports memorabilia auction.


Sunday, April 3 The “Run for Scholars” 5K Run/Walk will be held at the Atkinson Country Club, starting at 10 a.m. This race is a benefit to raise funds for the Granite State South Board of REALTORS Scholarship Fund. Come enjoy a great activity for a great cause.
