Government has approved the building of anew GP surgery
premises to
replace the Nantgarw Road and Trecenyddsur- geries,whichwill be locat-

from Nantgarw Road Practice said: “We are pleased that, after long delays, funding and plan-
ning forthe newpremises has finallybeen secured. Work is due to begin on the site this month, with completion expected early in January 2012. The extra space means thatwewill be better abletowork together as one team, offering awider range of medical services and link- ing more smoothlywith other health agencies.We hope all our existing and newpatients will be equal- ly excited by this develop- ment whichensures first class GP services fromthis long-established practice foranother generation to come.”
The surgery will serve
7,100 patients and is part of afivedoctor practice. The Nantgrawpractice is
adetached house built in 1871 whichwas later con- verted forgeneral medical
practice.The premises has been in use as apractice since 1936 and has all of the necessary modifica- tions.
There are twobranch surgeries namelythe Trecenyddsurgery which will be part of the newsur- gery and Senghenydd Health Centre in Parc Place Senghenydd, which will not be part of the new build.

chance to find out more about the proposed redevelopment of the Miners in ajoint venture between United Welsh, Lovell and CaerphillyMiners Centre forthe Community. The event let the public see
the plans as exhibition stands surrounding the room, one of whichincluded afly-through whichtook viewers on atour of the proposed
site.These plans include retaining the Beeches building foramulti functional community facility. People could also talk to rep- resentatives from eachpart- ner to ask questions about the exhibition. Visitors could also enter acompetition to name the development. The partnership wants to
