Cash boost buys piano
ACAERPHILLYchorus group now has ababygrand piano thanks to a grant and the generosity of an unknown benefactor. CaerphillyCommunity Chorus,
whichwas set up by Nigel Jones,afor- mer music teacher at Oakdale Comprehensive School, nowhas a Yahama grand
piano.The 100-strong group performs several concerts each year to raise money forcharity. The piano cost £6,500 and wasbought
with agrant from Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations of around £3,500 and adonation of £4,000 from an anonymous
source.The extra money wasused to buyacomputer,printer and various other items forthe chorus. The group practises at VanRoad Church in Caerphillywhere the piano will nowbebased. Formore information on the chorus
