Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”

“Thumbs up to Kevin. He plowed our driveway on Hilltop Drive several times this winter, and he truly is a professional!”

“Thumbs down to my neighbor and their four

wheeler....get a life instead of riding around in circles in your mud pit. I also noticed you have been riding on the road, I will call the police next time you ride on the road or ride past 8pm, this is getting old.”

“Thumbs up to Kathy and John S. for the delicious pancake breakfast at LMS!”

“Thumbs up, way up to Mr. Noel for rescuing us at the Circle K in Meredith! Not only did you come north in the middle of the night to save us, but you have been very generous letting us use your truck all the time and we really appreciate it! Thanks again Mr. Noel!”

“Thumbs down to RINO State Rep. Shawn

Jasper. He is a big government bully with an ego the size of the State House. Stop pandering to Democrats and start cutting taxes and spending.”

“Thumbs down to whoever plowed our

driveway for us last Friday. While we appreciate your efforts, we don’t appreciate that you hit our mailbox and broke the post. You also carved a good chunk of dirt from our parking area. Thank you for your time but we would prefer to shovel from now on. Neighbors on Brenton.”

“Thumbs down to the woman in the silver Altima on 3/2 at 6:20 a.m. who cut in front of me on Lowell Road to get on the ramp to Rte 3 near Sam’s, then drifted into my lane when I tried to pass her (she was putting lipstick on), and finally, gave me the finger when she passed me. Hope you had a wonderful day!”

“Thumbs up to anyone who still practices courtesy!”

“Thumbs down to Fox Hollow snow removal. I

actually saw a guy parked in a plow truck for 45 min. one day. The last storm was several days ago,

and I have moved my car whenever they blow the horn as we are supposed to, but my spot still isn’t plowed out right. Of everyone I know who lives in different condo areas, I am always the last to be plowed out. They are disorganized, slow and ineffective. I liked when my condo dues went down by $5, but this doesn’t seem worth it.”

“Thumbs up to all the crossing guards! You

work early hours, in the cold and the rain in order to make sure children cross the roads safely in some busy, high traffic areas, which can sometimes be a safety hazard of your job. Big ‘thumbs up’ for the crossing guard in front of the new Library and Alvirne/Hills Garrison intersection. You allow a safe and fair flow of traffic from all sides; you make sure it is safe before stepping out and stopping the traffic when a child passes through.”

“Thumbs down to the crossing guard in front

of Alvirne Barn and Derry Rd. You have to start thinking about the timing when stopping the flow of traffic when ‘no children’ are crossing and no cars are even close to exiting the school road near the barn. Countless times I have seen you stop the traffic of parents ‘who are trying to get their kids to school on time,’ only to find out you are letting out one bus (WITHOUT CHILDREN on it) or one car from the school exit before that automobile has even turned the corner near the barn to head to the exit. You are there for the children first, not to allow some random car out of the Alvirne school parking lot. You are going to cause a huge accident one day.”

“Thumbs up to Mitt Romney! We cannot endure the Obama-Misery Index any longer. We need Mitt as our President!”

“Thumbs up to the person that suggested that there should be no alcohol served in Town buildings. I agree that there is no need of this in today’s times. I have heard only good things about

“Thumbs down, way down to Hudson for

over assessing, I had my home privately assessed twice, came in about what I paid for it $250,000. Hudson has it at $375,000 that’s about $1,700.00 more in taxes, even my 3-year-old car is valued by the town for more than I bought it brand new. Those days are gone. All values need to be rolled back to 2004 rates, before the democrats forced banks to loan money to losers they new couldn’t pay it back, causing the phony spike in values.”

“Thumbs down to the ignorant person who used the phrase, ‘what are you, retarded’ when describing an incident where a snow plow driver hit his/her mailbox. All this accomplished was to show how completely ignorant and politically incorrect YOU are. Be a respectful person and call the town authorities when you are angry with the way the job was done. And double ‘thumbs down’ for the HLN for printing these comments. The use of the word ‘retarded’ is incredibly offensive to many readers. I enjoy reading the ‘thumbs’ section each week, but this was a low blow. As a special educator, I am truly disheartened by the ignorance of people who believe it is ok to use (or print) this word in that context.”

“Thumbs up to Jana, Hudson Animal Control

Officer. You were available to assist me on the afternoon of March 2nd when my dachshund wandered out of our yard. Your calm & friendly demeanor helped calm me down when I was so nervous. Thankfully he was found safe after 45 minutes. Thank you from the bottom of hearts.”

“Thumbs up to the ‘thumbs down’ writers—

you’re my favorite part of this paper! I admire the courage it must take to boldly voice your dissenting opinions—ah no, you’re anonymous so scratch that. But you are there to show me, when I start to think that our world is falling apart, what the real, pressing issues are: ‘My neighbor’s dog won’t stop barking,’ … ‘someone cut me off in traffic,’ … ‘someone’s having a campfire and I have

mailbox was all over the road...we found pieces all the way to the front door. You must have hit it super hard...how does your car/truck look?? Police were notified....that mailbox cost me a lot of money. Next time maybe you will be decent enough to leave a note or come back the next day to apologize.”

“Thumbs up to the 7th grade girls Penguins All- Star basketball team on a great tournament in Bow NH.”

“Thumbs up to the LMS PTO for the wonderful Staff Appreciation breakfast.”

“Thumbs up to the GFWC Hudson Junior

Woman’s Club for providing Candidates’ Night. Many of us were glad to be able to watch it on TV or online so that we could match faces and ideas with names on the ballot”

Comedy Nights, but the issue at hand is the fact that it is a Town Building and no alcohol consumption should be allowed in any Town Building. I think that it is time for the BOS to revisit this issue.”

“Thumbs up to Mrs.

Cummings at LMD for the great job on the activities for National School Counseling week.”

“Thumbs down to the woman

who made a false accusation recently regarding a mother leaving her son in the car. I am that mother and I would like you to spend one day with me and my son and tell me how much I do not love him and want him. That was a false accusation and you should really consider getting all of the information before you make such a deep, deep accusation and a lot of people know and a lot of people are not very happy with your comment.”

“Thumbs down to State Representative Jasper who continues to cause drama at the State House rather than legislating and delivering results. Speaker O’Brien was right to throw you out of his office and in the next election we should throw you out of office completely.”

“Thumbs up to Kara L. for making the Dean’s List at NHCI. Keep up the good work we are very proud of you.”

to smell it!,’ … ‘a house I don’t live in has a messy yard!’ or ‘a politician is spending my tax money unwisely!’ (what did you expect?). Thanks good citizens and keep ‘em coming!!!”

“Thumbs down to the person on the Conservation Committee changing the laws to meet their own personal agenda. Maybe next year we won’t look the other way when you drain your pool into the watershed or use ‘non-approved’ chemicals on your grass. He who is without sin...”

“Thumbs down to the New Hampshire House for passing ‘Right to Work’ legislation! It is about time that we crack the iron fist of the union thugs.”

“Thumbs down to Representative and Selectman

Shawn Jasper. It appears he is the exact same bully in Concord that he is in Hudson. His inability to get off his moral high horse makes him an ineffective legislator.”

“Thumbs down Hudson Baseball. I am hoping the folks involved with baseball truly look at why participation is so low this year. One piece of feedback I will give is maybe listen to the parents and not assume they are causing drama, some parents have valid concerns. I would hate for baseball to loose it’s momentum in Hudson due to some coaches or leaders who are not thinking of all the kids on their team.”

“Thumbs up to Timothy C. for making the presidents list at SNHU keep u p the good work, we are very proud of you.”

“Thumbs down! To the person that ran my beautiful mailbox down the morning of 2-24- 11. Just missing my truck!! Woke up on that morning to my neighbor letting me know that my

in my book.”

“Thumbs up to Kayla Juliano and Amanda Torres for being selected for the All Tournament Team in the Bow Invitational Tournament.”

“Thumbs down to Rep. Shawn Jasper. Stop fluffing your ego by constantly promoting yourself in the newspaper. End the political posturing and whining and start fixing the budget!”

“Thumbs down to the New Hampshire Firearms Coalition who continue to masquerade as supporters of the Second Amendment when they are actually the biggest threat to gun rights in New Hampshire.”

“Thumbs up to the 5/6 girls Teal Eeyore REC basketball Champs! Meg, Maddie, Hannah, Emma, Jillian, Gabi, Bridget, Julia, Haleigh and Jess! You played hard all season and capped it off with a great effort to bring home the Championship against a tough team in the final. You worked hard all season and hopefully had fun along the way. I do not think too many teams celebrated JB’s birthday during practice. We are proud to have had a chance to coach you all!! Coach Mike and Coach Don”

“Thumbs up to the Fox Hollow board of directors. As a volunteer myself, I know our efforts often go unnoticed, but that’s OK. Keep up the good work and don’t let one bad apple Director spoil your hard work. His abuse of power in getting special favors by the plowing company have not gone unnoticed. His selfish and self- centered interests are known by his neighbors and we need to be rid of him.”

“Thumbs down to people

who throw table scraps out for birds. You attract ravens. They have a fondness for bread or other flour based foods. Their call is like a barking dog with a sore throat., They start very early in the morning and very close to where they have been fed before. Maybe your think they are crows but crows don’t bark. Ravens raid nests for baby birds which they eat. So save the birds – don’t feed ravens. Also, regular bird seed does not appeal to them, please use that for the sake and safety of to the birds and peace and quiet.”

“Thumbs up, way up to the gentleman in the red Ford F150 pickup on Wason Road Saturday morning, I never got a chance to thank you for taking that tree from out of the middle of the road. It’s great to see that people are still willing to stop and help. Keep up the great work.”

“Thumbs up to neighbors on Stoney Lane for helping each other.”

“Thumbs up to Raymond our neighbor who has been helping us out all winter by snowblowing us out…taking care of the old folks, thanks Ray!”

“Thumbs up to the 7th grade

boys Hudson all star basketball team, you played your hearts out until the very end, great job coach you’ll always be winner

“Thumbs up to my husband
