‘Bucket List’ speaks to desire to make meaningful changes

by Rev. Michael Bryant, senior pastor at First United Methodist Church of Gilbert As shown in the recent movie “The Bucket List,” many people these days think about what they would like to accomplish before they die.

The power of the story of “The Bucket List” was that lasting relationships matter more than money and “stuff.”

Perhaps it’s time to rethink our own bucket list. Maybe going sky-diving is not that important anymore. Perhaps it is time to heal that broken relationship that has overwhelmed us for so long. Maybe we just want to be closer to God than ever before. Did you know that as we love God more and get closer to Him, we have the ability to get closer to each other?

I invite you to read Micah 6.6 through 8 and see how to get closer to God and mend your relationships.

First United Methodist Church of Gilbert is located at 331 S. Cooper Rd. in Gilbert. For more information, visit www. gilbertumc.org or call 480-892-9166.
