ASU’s Office of Knowledge Enterprise and Development and Arizona Technology Enterprise (AzTE) recognized Professors Anshuman Razdan and John Femiani’s work with three-dimensional (3D) handwriting. Femiani, a Gilbert resident, and Razdan of Ahwatukee developed a method to convert a two-dimensional image or bitmap of a handwritten manuscript into 3-D data that can be used to automatically recognize features of the manuscript, such as characters or words.
Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa and employee Lisa Mercer were recognized recently at Starwood Hotels and Resort’s annual conference and awards ceremony, where more than 90 hotels were represented.
