“Thumbs up for Michelle Farrell. Thank you for running for the Windham School Board. You have the professional and personal experience we need to continue moving forward towards long-term solutions for our community. Your steady voice on behalf of our children is a tremendous asset on the Board.”

“Thumbs up to Stephanie Wimmer for stepping up on behalf of our children in Windham. Stephanie will be a refreshing addition to the school board and her strong organizational skills and business acumen will serve us all well.”

“Thumbs up to Jonathan Sycamore for running

for Windham Planning Board. Having someone with a back round in water management will bring a fresh look at many old problems and will be a huge asset to our community.”

“Thumbs up….WAY UP to Kathleen Sullivan

DiFruscia for stepping up to run for the Windham Board of Selectmen! It is great to have a candidate whose only agenda is to represent the residents of Windham. It’s time we put a stop to the ‘good ole boys club’ that is trying to ruin our town and took back our community! I know I will be voting for Kathleen on March 8th!“

“Thumbs down to incumbent Selectman Bruce Bretton who attended a Republican Town Committee meeting rather than appearing at Candidates Night to explain why he is running for Planning Board. Party politics seems to be more important to Bruce, as he attempts to sway a non- partisan election.”

“Thumbs up: I don’t have to throw my vote

away. There are two other good candidates.”

“Thumbs up to Pelham’s Senior residents for always being ahead of the National curve. Here in Pelham the locals have put a stop to the tax and spenders that came in from Massachusetts. All over the country towns, states, and even the feds have been over spending and over taxing the people. Pelham saw the crises coming several years ago and now the rest of the country is finally realizing we are broke. Keep up the diligence against these who will never be satisfied. Vote NO on all new spending this Spring.”

“Thumbs up to Bill. Right On! Voluntary

Recycling, keep big Government out of our business and our garbage.. Now for that volunteer Fire Dept. That will cut taxes. From another true blue Hillbilly!”

“Thumbs up to the Pelham Travel 3rd Grade

Boys basketball team for an UNDEFEATED season and the championship! ‘Thumbs up’ to the two fabulous coaches who did such an amazing job with these boys – Coach Mike and Coach Vic – THANK YOU! Congratulations boys on a WONDERFUL season! You played great basketball and deserve the championship!”

“Thumbs up to the Pelham Travel 4th Grade Girls basketball team for winning the championship game this season!! ‘Thumbs up’ to Coach Derek and Coach Bob for doing a great job with the girls – THANK YOU!”

“Thumbs down to the pizza place in Windham,

NH. Apparently you didn’t realize that it is a Federal Offense to put your menus in a person’s mailbox without permission. The only authorized people to put anything in a mailbox are those employed by the USPS and the mailbox’s owner.”

“Thumbs up to Pelham Hillbillies, we are not

stupid! Adding lines to an article like ‘this is one of many problems and will cost millions’ don’t fool us. Try it at the end of the new Fire Station. It won’t change the article.

I am still voting for it,

any school articles, raises and anything else. These are all good. My property value will go up, I have no kids, I will move and the hillbillies can pay for it. I enjoyed it here bye. I will move to a nice town in Wisconsin.”

“Thumbs up to Pelham’s liberal jokers who are once again going to bombard us with their warped analysis of the massive amounts of money that they are going to save us. They truly believe that

borrowing money we can’t afford, paying principle, interest, maintenance, staffing, benefits, pensions and on and on will some how be cheaper than not spending any money at all. Lets do the math. Spend lots of money now on new schools, much more money in the future when the new and old buildings need repairs and replacement. Spend even more money to replace all the teachers and staff during their retirements as well as the replacement teachers. I

could keep listing the expenses or we could just not spend any more money. Seems to be cheaper to do nothing! I guess going to the old schools in Pelham makes my math different than their Massachusetts math.”

“Thumbs down to Windham School Superintendent Frank Bass for parking in the Reserved Handicapped parking space at Howie Glynn’s store on 2/23. Not only did he park illegally in this reserved spot, but he did so on an angle, blocking the handicapped walkway and ramp as well. This man is responsible for the education of our children! This callous disregard for our disabled population, and the laws of our state are an indicator that we should take very seriously. Is this the example we want for our children? If his disregard is this flagrant in public, what’s going on that we don’t know about?”

“Thumbs up to all people in Windham with vision, those who know when opportunity knocks. The adjacent property at Town Beach is available for purchase! This offer is not likely to ever happen again. By acquiring this property we will: alleviate the over parking and the hazard that exists during weekends; add much needed facilities including restrooms and change rooms (have you ever used those port-a-potties?); ease the over crowding on the beach; allow for more space for swimmers AND boaters (i.e., kayakers); and provide better safety for all people who enjoy Windham’s best natural asset. There is nothing like Cobbett’s Pond in the Summer... for swimming, boating and just relaxing. The time is now. Let’s make it the best it can be!”

Pelham Lacrosse! You care about the kids – taking the time to individually praise and work with them every single week. It’s so wonderful to be a part of such an amazing organization! Thank you to all the Outlaws coaches and to Brian J for bringing Lacrosse to Pelham. THANK YOU THANK YOU!”

“Thumbs down to the usual misinformation and

‘let’s all vote NO on everything’ crowd. Do you realize that if we don’t approve a kindergarten at this election, we lose the state aid of 75% for the kindergarten portion, and we will have to buy the trailers that are currently in use? That’s right NO voters, those trailers have been paid for by the state up to now, but voting NO on building the kindergarten means you voted YES to buy trailers, and you won’t have any option to stop it. This is the same backwards mentality that voting NO on building a new school was really a vote of YES to waste money renting trailers endlessly. That money is gone for good and the cost of building only gets higher, especially after we previously blew a chance at state aid.”

“Thumbs down to the typical misinformation on important issue in Pelham.

I paid for my kids to go

to private kindergarten years ago, but the state has forced us to provide public kindergarten. No sense in arguing that fact. Are we going to finally do the right thing or are we going to lose out again on state aid and have to spend our tax money on more trailers?”

“Thumbs up to all those Socialist Protesters

who are bringing light to the way our governments have been wasting the tax payers money. The tax payers will no longer be fooled. Building a new school is not just about the outrageous burden of paying for the bricks and mortar. The building is simply the basis for those working inside to take the taxpayers to the whipping post while they hold the children for ransom. The payments never stop. They just keep getting larger and larger. The only way to slow down the governments assault on our wallets is to not give them any new buildings to

who called some residents of Pelham ‘Wanters.’ Indeed they want for everything, but it is a medical condition (bipolar) that causes it. Most socialists have it without even knowing. Some get diagnosed, while most just go through life from one spending high to another. They are only happy while spending money. Once a purchase is made they become angry until they come up with more money for the next purchase. They will ‘beg borrow and steal’ whatever and from whomever is necessary to get another moment of happy time. Then the process of anger starts all over again. Many politicians are bipolar and that is what will bankrupt this nation.”

taxpayers know Pelham much better than any blow-in from Massachusetts. For what it is, you should rethink why you’re here.”

“Thumbs up to Pelham Hillbillies. Newsflash

LOWER TAXES through managed growth.

CAROLYN B.

PLANNING BOARD Webber

“Thumbs down to whoever wrote the ‘thumbs’ in support of Deb, Rob, and Andy. The adjective of ‘hostile’ fits Deb perfectly! The ‘antagonistic’ adjective fits Rob and Andy like a glove! Pelham residents NEED to be afraid of these three people. They will put us all in the ‘poor house’ and then they will move out of town! (Deb has threatened this over and over but I haven’t seen the FOR SALE sign in front of her house yet!)They don’t know the difference between wanting things and needing things!”

“Thumbs downto Pelham Baseball! I would like

my money back please! How can you expect to have a season with a total of less than 60 kids? That won’t even be enough for a Minors OR Majors division. Are we supposed to pay money for the referee ‘stipend’ when they aren’t needed because there are no teams? Why would I want to play the same teams over and over again because there aren’t enough for a division. Please post a message on how to get a FULL REFUND! We will play Lacrosse - the kids love it more anyways. No need to try to fit in two sports when one of the sports is so shabbily run as Pelham Baseball! Put the group under the Parks & Rec organization like most other towns do - then it will be run correctly, the fees will be cut in AT LEAST half - and it will have a chance at surviving in this town! Shame on you!”

“Thumbs down to progressives! Pelham has its

share. The US bailed out Britain in 1976 when the progressives over spent and collapsed their country. Nobody cared enough to save Yugoslavia bye bye. Zimbabwe has recently collapsed without anyone bailing out their bad behavior. Germany is trying to some how save Spain Greece Portugal and Italy. Good luck stopping their Progressives. The Middle East is falling apart from greedy over spending governments. The US has two many cities and states to list that have put themselves into massive debt and Pelham is fast becoming one of those towns. All around our country cities and states are over taxing us. They refuse to cut spending so instead they will increase fees, sell off public property and due what ever they can to grow government. Will anybody care when Pelham starts to collapse because we are once again about to borrow millions of more dollars in debt?”

“Thumbs down to anyone who puts down

teachers. Teaching is the one profession from where all other professions are formed. Instead of bashing teachers, maybe you should try thanking one. It is a stressful job with many demands and not such great pay. If it were not for your teachers, you would not be able to enjoy this paper.”

“Thumbs down to the NH Republican Party for trying to influence our local elections! Since when do we need statewide, much less national monies, flowing into Windham’s local elections in order to make an informed decision? Since when is it important which party a local candidate belongs to? I want to vote for the best WINDHAM resident to represent me on the local boards, not the one Concord or Washington thinks is best. Party politics are so dysfunctional in our capitals, why would we want to bring the same nonsense to our local town?”

“Thumbs up to Warrant Article 3 to support completion of the Facilities Master Plan.”

“Thumbs down to those socialists in Pelham who

revert to demonizing taxpayers who don’t want to fund their socialist policies. Just because some Pelham residents have been here for generations does not mean they don’t know what is right for Pelham. In fact it is just the opposite. These

to the ‘young whiner’; it is our business, it’s our money. That run down building is not educating your children, the teachers are. 58.6% of voters were so focused on running out and voting for a new school, but not as focused on requests for new teachers at the high school. The shame here lies with you, not us, you knew the school was run down and yet you still made the choice to move here, and now because you feel that the schools are not adequate for your darling children, you want everyone else to pay. So yes I do “expect” you to do the same as we did and take responsibility for your own children. If you don’t like our schools, please go elsewhere the town will survive without you. The nerve of someone to tell us to stay at home and to mind our own business. Fellow hillbillies unite, get out and vote no new school, no new kindergarten, lets build onto what we have. – HeeHaw”

“Thumbs down: regarding Mesiti LLC and Fellows house and barn in Windham: could this be the same Mesiti LLC that wanted to demolish the historic house across from Griffin Park.

Tear down paradise and put up a parking lot? Yes it’s the same one. I wonder which historic property will be the next on the list?

“Thumbs down to the Pelham board of selectmen who approve of article 16 that is selling a right of way on Castle Hill Rd for $1.00 without any consideration for the abutters. Shame on them and people have the right to know WHAT IS THE REAL STORY BEHIND THIS MESS? Pelham citizens please vote no on article 16.

concerned

citizen.” “Thumbs up to Kathleen Sullivan DiFruscia for

Windham Selectman. I have known Kathleen both personally and professionally for 32 years, and the adjectives that best describe her character include smart, honest, devoted, caring and trustworthy. Our community would be very fortunate to have such an extraordinary person representing us. Please vote for Kathleen Sullivan DiFruscia for Selectman on March 8th.”

“Thumbs down to those running the show! A

school board member said (on the record) that the kindergarten is “only” going to raise our taxes $500. We are in the worst economic times since the Great Depression. If you look at the Pelham ballot questions you would think we were in fantastic economic times. The November election results were a statement by the voters asking for a new course. We are trillions in debt but those in power continue to want to spend your money. They want to just use the “credit card” and you, are the credit card! Tell them you want a balanced budget, make cuts AND then you can afford something new. If you can’t pay for it....you can’t have it. Please vote NO on ALL new Pelham taxes!”

“Thumbs up to Michelle Farrell and the WSB for their hard work to keep the Windham Schools moving forward thru these difficult economic times. Her leadership will be needed to complete the plan in the years to come. Nice work Michelle – you have my vote!”

“Thumbs up to the 58.6% voters who came out in 2010 to vote for the New High School. Kindergarten is on the ballot this year. It is a very important vote whether or not you have children in Kindergarten. By securing this piece of education with a building that will house Kindergarten and Special Education for challenged Preschoolers this will give us a permanent solution for the future of these students. With the state giving us 75% of building costs for Kindergarten it would be cost effective to take advantage of this funding. We lost the funding for the High School, let’s not lose this funding for Kindergarten. I know the 58.6% voters are there. Come out and vote , bring your friends and neighbors. Let’s get that added 2% out to Vote. The funding is there for 2011, Let’s take it and move forward. Then onto solving our High School needs.”

“Thumbs up to Windham’s Warrant Article 2, a permanent Kindergarten addition utilizing 75% state aid.”

“Thumbs down to voting for the lady seeking an elected position as a Pelham cemetery trustee board member. No doubt she is very nice and hard working. However, she is seeking constituency votes and confidence to manage trust monies. Her town tax history suggests she may fall a bit short of being a good choice for your vote. This does not make her a bad person. Again, I’m sure she is very nice, just not a good candidate for cemetery trustee.”
