Teaching and Learning at Mountbatten is forward thinking, innovative and inspirational. Learning is fun but challenging and inclusive. Students are encouraged to be independent, self reflective and take responsibility for their own learning.


All lessons have a clear purpose, challenging task and provide opportunities for students to articulate their ideas. Students are taught how to assess and evaluate their progress and link their learning across different subject areas. A wide range of teaching and learning approaches are used to foster talents and develop skills for life.


Our Teachers are reflective practitioners, constantly sharing good practice and trialling cutting edge pedagogy. Recent developments include ‘Thinking for Learning’, ‘Creativity across the Curriculum’ and ‘Video Conferencing’. Teachers value the opinions of students and use their evaluations and feedback to develop their practice further.
