These sophomores are awarded a $1,500 scholarship that can be used when they attend an institution of higher learning after high school. Thank you, MAC members; the funds for these schol- arships come from your $15 donation to MAF in July.


The Northwest Shootout


The Northwest Shootout in April was another successful basketball tournament featuring the senior boys and girls all-star teams from Oregon and Washington. Net proceeds from the tournament go to MAF to help support its mission. That is the good news; the bad news is that Oregon lost both games for the third year in a row. This year the Northwest Shootout is Saturday, April 2 at University of Portland’s Chiles Center. Read more about this event on page 25.


MAF grants


Some of the organizations receiving direct grants from the MAF this past year include Peninsula Wrestling, De LaSalle High School, Oregon Disability Sports, Gladstone Education Foundation, The Children’s Course, OSAA Foundation and Camp for Kids.
