Survivors include his wife, Donna; sons, Jerome and Richard; daughter, Jois; step- sons, Robert Sacks and Mark Sacks; and sister, Helen Runstein. Lawrence D. Tarlow died Jan. 27. He was a senior family preferred member who joined the club in 1983. Tarlow was born in Portland in 1932. He graduated from Stanford University in 1954, and earned his MBA from New York University Graduate School of Retailing in 1955. He then became associated in the family furniture business, Tarlow’s Furniture, in Portland.


Survivors include his wife, Sharon; sons, Stefan and David; daughter, Mary; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. John L. Schwabe died Jan. 29. He was an honorary life family member who joined the club in 1952.


Schwabe was born in Nowata, Okla., in 1919. After graduating from Oklahoma State University as a Sigma Chi in pre-law, Schwabe enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, completed Marine offi cer training and was commissioned as a second lieu- tenant. He was sent into active duty in the South Pacifi c theater. For his service, he was awarded a Silver Star, fi ve Bronze Stars, and a Presidential Citation for Valor. Following his military service, Schwabe attended law school at Ohio State University, then moved to Oregon where he joined the fi rm that later became Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt. Survivors include his wife, Jean; sister, Emily; daughters, Susan and Annie; son, Ron; 10 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son John L. Schwabe Jr.
