eginning later this month, MAC members are allowed to pay for supervised care in the Junior Lounge for five- and six-year-olds from 9 a.m.-noon on weekdays when Portland Public School are not in session. This change begins at Spring Break, Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25. The fee is $5 per hour per child. This option is in response to parents’ requests for an alternative to child care for this age group.

This service is subject to the same restrictions as MAC Child Care. The adult member must remain on club premises or be participating in a club-sponsored activity outside the club, and care is limited to two hours per day. In order to provide safe adult-to-child staffing, only 10 chil- dren younger than age seven are accepted into care at a given time. Reservations are not taken, and space is available to members on a first-come, first-serve basis. Children younger than seven may not be unattended in the club at any time, so once checked in they are not permitted to leave until picked up by the adult member. For more information, call
