roses all year RoseClear Ultra is the new generation systemic insecticide and fungicide for combined control of pests and diseases on ornamental plants. It has a three-in-one action: it kills aphids, controls key diseases on roses and other ornamentals, (namely blackspot, powdery mildew and rust) and prevents further attacks, with up to four weeks between applications. The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company believes that this is the new industry standard and is a vast improvement on the original RoseClear, where re-application was needed every two weeks; each bottle now lasts twice as long. This exclusive formulation delivers the great results that all gardeners are looking for. RoseClear Ultra is available as an economical concentrate that is diluted in water plus the ever-popular, convenient ready-to-use RoseClear Ultra Gun! Retailers can rely on Scotts to provide and integrated marketing campaign, great PR activity, compelling point-of-sale and display material plus hot-spot stands. Diamond

celebration for Baby Bio

Bayer Garden’s Baby Bio is celebrating its 60th anniversary by launching a limited-edition bottle to raise awareness of Anthony Nolan, a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Anthony Nolan has created the UK’s largest stem cell register which matches donors to patients who need a stem cell transplant. There are currently over 400,000 people on the Anthony Nolan register, but the charity would like to grow this to one million potential donors. The limited edition Diamond Jubilee bottles of Baby Bio will be used to raise awareness of Anthony Nolan, and encourage more people to sign up to its register. By taking the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of Baby Bio to support Anthony Nolan, Bayer Garden is giving retailers the tools needed to create a buzz in store. “Baby Bio has been Britain’s favourite house-plant food for 60 years because it’s effective and easy to use,” said Alison Mulvaney, product manager at Bayer Garden. “We wanted to celebrate the Diamond anniversary by giving something back and so we’ve made the decision to donate £20,000 to the charity in Baby Bio’s name.” For more information call 0845 3454100 or visit www.bayergarden.co.uk

Store seeds

in style! Highly commended by the Gift Association, these handsome SeedBoxes sell consistently well throughout the year according to the brand behind them, The Original Metal Box Company. Designed in consultation with Tony Russell, BBC broadcaster and garden writer, and produced in two sizes with four gorgeous designs, there is a SeedBox for everyone. Large SeedBoxes have six compartments for setting out seed packets and bulbs and are perfect for allotment holders and serious gardeners. Small SeedBoxes are more straightforward and are suitable for the gardener who likes to stuff a few packets of seeds and their gardening gloves into a box (albeit a beautiful one) at the end of the day.
