One of the more visible benefits of Indiana Farm Bureau’s support of the Indiana Humani- ties Council’s two-year Food for Thought initiative is an exhibit that travels the state to help spark conversations about food and farmers. The Food for Thought traveling exhibit features a historical and contemporary look at Indiana’s food culture, plus interactive opportunities for Hoosiers of all ages. It has visited dozens of fairs, festivals, libraries, museums and schools. Visitors recorded their Hoosier food story at the Story Silo, examined kitchen tools at the Hoo- sier cabinet or tested their knowledge by taking a quiz. With programs devoted to issues rang- ing from local to global and slow food to fast food, Food for Thought continues to encourage Hoosiers to think, read and talk about food. The Food for Thought exhibit is beginning its sec- ond year of travels, and we encourage you and your local Farm Bureau to add a local farmer’s perspective to the ongoing conversation.
